Ellen M. Adelman Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist who has been in clinical practice for over 25 years. She has been practicing and studying mindfulness meditation for the past twenty years. She is the founder of The Sage Healing Institute which is dedicated to the relief of both psychological and physical suffering through techniques informed by the integration of traditional psychological techniques and the principles of Buddhist Psychology. This treatment program and approach is called Mind-Body Intelligence.
Dr. Adelman is also the Director of PsyCare Solutions Inc. the parent organization of Sage, which provides a multi-disciplinary approach to a full range of psychological problems. As director of the practice she is responsible for supervision and continuing education of clinicians as well as direct patient care.
Dr. Adelman has long been interested in psychosomatic medicine. Her role as the Chief of Psychology at Rolling Hill Hospital, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, encouraged her to develop her interest and her expertise in this area.
Dr. Adelman, as a practitioner of mindfulness meditation, has been a journeyer on the spiritual path as well. Through her training with many meditation teachers, such as Pema Chodron, she has developed a philosophy that treatment must attend to issues of mind, body, and spirit to be truly effective.
Dr. Adelman is a graduate of the Department of Counseling Psychology at Temple University, where she has taught a number of courses on the undergraduate and graduate levels of training. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, and The Pennsylvania Psychological Association where she is a member of the Colleague Assistance Committee.
Steven Adelman, Ph.D. is a Senior Clinical Instructor and mental health supervisor in Drexel University's Creative Arts in Therapy Program. He is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Philadelphia and Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. Dr. Adelman specializes in the treatment of anxiety and depression and has integrated traditional interventions for these disorders into the Mind Body Intelligence approach. He has given numerous workshops and presentations, including how Western and Eastern psychologies can inform each other. He has a long-standing interest in Eastern psychologies and has a daily meditation and yoga practice. Dr. Adleman is cofounder and Associate Director of the Sage Healing Institute. He is a member of numerous professional organizations. He is also the Associate Director of PsyCare Solutions, a multi disciplinary mental health practice.
