Will You Benefit from Mindfulness Training?
Mindfulness techniques have been found to be effective in reducing anxiety and depression. Research has shown them to be a powerful aid to patients with medical conditions ranging from hypertension, to cancer and fibromyalgia and other conditions of chronic pain.
For the first time these programs have been integrated with the principles of Western Psychology so that trained mental health clinicians can be armed with this powerful tool in providing relief from both psychological and physical suffering.
The MBI program consists of an orientation session, a series of 8 classes, and a follow-up session. Together with the other members, the participants learn concentration meditation skills, mindfulness meditation skills, and healing-based mindful movement skills. The program also teaches the principles of Buddhist psychology, leading to increased compassion for oneself and others. The result is a significant decrease in emotional and physical symptoms, a deeper connection with ones spirituality and a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in this life.
MBI oriented psychotherapy is available to those wishing to participate in deeper individual or family work.
